Cultural memory and identity, museology, islamic sufism and philosophy
Sema Demir majored in folklore and museology. She received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in folk literature and folk life from Hacettepe University, Ankara. PhD, in Turkish Language and Literature, from Gazi University with a dissertation titled The Use of Verbal Memory in the Context of Sustainability and Power at theMuseums of Turk. She worked as an instructor at Bilkent and Gazi University. She is founder of three museums in Beypazari which is one of the tourism destination of Ankara. Living Museum, Turkish Bath Museum and Anatolian Open Air Museum have been established by the goal of showing cultural variety of Turkey, making a deep research over these traditional data and sharing the obtained knowledge, allowing future generations to know and inspire from this legacy.
